  • Wait until your number is called, love!

    :wave::>>I liked this one folks!:D

One Friday night in a crowded downtown hotel a very large man sat down beside me and started banging the bar with his fist.

A very busy and flustered barmaid with three pints of beer in each hand said she would be right back to serve him.

But the extremely impatient customer started banging the bar again with his fist for service.

Going to the cash register, the barmaid wrote the number 567 on a piece of paper and laid it in front of him. "Wait until your number is called, love!" she said to him.

Then turning to the bar she said," Now who has number one?"

I think that impatient customer learned a lesson that night.

  • The round ball game - Is it Soccer or Football?

The round ball game - is it Soccer or Football?

Just because Association Foofball is numerically the largest football code in the world, doesn't give organisers the moral right to promote soccer as "Football".

The term football is just a generic term to describe the various codes - rugby union( commonly called rugby), rugby league or league,Aussie Rules (AFL), American Football or Gridiron,Gaelic Football, Seven A Side or Sevens, Touch( Touch rugby or touch football. Is there any more?

So the current World Cup should be the Soccer World Cup. Next year there will be the real beautiful game - Rugby World Cup; a sport that uses more than just kicking with the feet and the noggin, has little time for Hollywood injury acts and fans who have never grown up or have retarded when they have!

Well, thats all for this week. Brazil to win the cup after beating England - is this game likely?

  • All Blacks versus Ireland - Second Rugby Test.

In the rain and on an extremely wet ground the All Blacks battled it out tonight. The conditions can be a great leveller; and so it was in tonight's game. The Irish put the All Blacks to the sword on many occasions.Kiwi grit finally overcame Irish passion!

    Half Time: 20-14

Two tries each. Two penalties to one. 20-17.

About 8 mins to go and AB's No 10, Luke McAlister scored a try, and converted it. 27-17

The All Blacks dominated scrums and the Irish did well in the lineouts.

Jonathan Kaplan from South Africa refereed the game well.

The Irish played with passion and commitment, and denied the All Blacks No1 side possession and put on enough pressure to force many mistakes in the very wet conditions. The No 2 team travels to Argentina tomorrow; followed by reserves from tonights game, a couple of days later.Such is professional rugby.

    Final score: 27-17

On the performances of the two match series, won by the All Blacks 2-0, the Irish will be competitive at next years Rugby World Cup. They may well be the best of the home nations sides at present.

A New Zealand punter put up NZ$20,000 today for an All Blacks win 12 points and under. He won?

The Irish have still not beaten the All Blacks in over 100 years of playing.

They move on for a test with the Australian Wallabies next week.

  • Rugby World Cup - marvellous event!

The Rugby World Cup - marvellous event - not originally supported by England.

It was New Zealand and Australia who put up the proposal for a R.W.C. in the first place. England reckoned it wouldn't work. Yeah right!

New Zealand is right on target to win the cup again; and probably against France again. The All Blacks are building up a strong squad of 30 for the cup next year.Still, a year to go.We can gauge things at the end of the year.

I would like to point out to readers here that the Rugby World Cup is not a world championship; rugby doesn't have one. So a memorandum to England rugby: stop calling yourself world champions!

We have world rankings each year and England ranks about Number 6 at present! Hardly the ranking of a champion, old chap? We know who is number 1 at present?
