WritingUp acting up like Blogfeast.net a few weeks ago.

These are both community blogs I subscribe to and have been extremely annoying to say the least when you are fitting your available online time around visiting your blogsites.

Blogfeast changed servers and are probably back to about 90% normal now. At least their Admin posted an apology and told us they are still having a few glitches.

  • A weekend from hell for Kiwi sports teams and their fans...

A weekend from hell for kiwi sports teams and their fans...

Well both New Zealands top two Super 14 rugby sides were defeated by South African teams in the semi-finals - the Auckland Blues and the champion Canterbury Crusaders. The former has won three titles and the latter six titles and runners-up in two others. Its the first time a South African side will win a final - the Sharks have a home final against the Bulls next weekend.

What happened to the two great Kiwi sides? They are victims of All Blacks coach, Graham Henry's "reconditioning programme" for twenty two All Blacks players who didn't play in the first seven games of the Super 14 Competition, and some didn't play very many games when they came back too.

It may affect the early tests the All Blacks play too. But I suspect the players will be getting match hardened by the time the southern Tri-Nations starts.South Africa may be a little puffed up with confidence by then; that will be their folly!

While the Super 14 was stuffed up for the Kiwi teams, the 22 earmarked All Blacks will be coming to form nicely for the World Cup.

Well the weekend was hell for our teams, the NZ Warriors lost their NRL rugby league game, the final blow was this mornings Netball match against England. The Poms beat the Silver Ferns for the first time in 37 years; only their second victory in 67 games.Hells teeth!

Update: The Bulls won the final one week later by 20-19. Brian Habana scored a last second try.

  • Giant Crocodile snapped of vet's arm in Taiwan attack...

Giant Crocodile snapped off vet's arm in attack at Taiwan zoo - seven hour operation to reattach arm.

This is a short but dramatic story of an attack by a crocodile at the Taiwan Zoo - the outcome of the operation is unknown at prsent.

At a southern Taiwan Zoo in Kaohsiung, a monster crocodile snapped off the zoo vet's arm at the elbow after he attempted to retrieve a tranquilizer dart from its pen.

Then the 181 kg giant reptile sat quietly with the bloodied limb dangling from its mouth as stunned tourists watched in horror.

The vet, Chang Po-yus was rushed to hospital once the limb was able to be retrieved and endured a seven hour operation to reattach his arm.

There has not been any news regarding the success of the operation
