Actually, I think he has something to answer for? As Robert Kennedy was the power for good behind his brother,JFK, Cheney was the power for power's sake behind Bush.

Here, again, will history reflect this?

I don't know, but there are a lot of people who would have Cheney's head.

Lately, now that Cheney is reaching the end of his life thanks to a 'ticky' heart, he seems to be attempting to clear himself and trying to explain the reasons WHY he was all for torture and bombing innocents in faraway countries. Even his recent book is justification for all the evils he and Donald Rumsfeld dished-up as revenge.
All that sweet talk and explanations are not going to help him when his heart stops ticking. Then, he is going to have to answer to a lot of questions...
Fifty years or less from now, his name will be added to the list of the iniquitous evil men who have added to the black smear on 'America the Beautiful.'
I am happy to find out that others are beginning to see the light lately, and they too now think as I did from the very word 'go.' You see, I was living in Texas back then, and George Bush could do no wrong. The people thought of him almost as a god! How I hope this Rick Perry does not win the nomination of President. He is yet another Texan with an overly inflated ego. As well as dangerous! Surely 'we the sheep,' can think better than to vote for yet another one.-

Americans get too party politicised, and can't see the other side of the argument. They have to be prepared to ask questions and not just accept somebody else's FACTS as being the truth. How deeply involved was George Bush Jr? Was he just a figurehead or another real ratbag too?
Your great country has probably been damaged beyond repair, so to speak! It spends trillions on wars, directly and indirectly - but it has such a huge arms industry it has too find an outlet for its weapon manufacture. But just imagine if it was to turn to food production and water purification as its main industry - the spin-off would solve humanity's droughts and starvation.-

Wow! Your last sentence gives me a lot to think about. It would be nice to see that at the top of tomorrow's USA Newspaper.
I think George Bush, Jr., was just another figurehead. I still remember, once in awhile, that there is a group of twelve famous people who meet-up in places like Switzerland, to decide the monies of other countries, and decide on which wars should be imminent. 'The Gnomes of Rome?'-

Yes, the funny bit is I rather like him in a way. The others are evil men. There is a 'group' of people who meet. I posted a story a while back. I'll get the link for you later. The Mafia was, is and will be involved in all functions of American and Western life. The Mafia is, I believe a more general term as well, for those people of intrigue. Joseph Kennedy Sen. was involved in everything - booze, prostitution, gambling, business of course, manipulation of politicians and police - and then politics. Well, he was an Irish immigrant. He wanted his son, Joseph Jr to get into politics and become president. He got killed, so JFK was the annointed one! The war hero, who suffered health problems after the war until his death. They say he was in pain all the time and used pain killers, perhaps narcotics too?. Despite JFK being like Bill Clinton - couldn't keep their trousers done up - I believe he warranted his reputation as a great president. That's my story!
